Quote of the day

It reminded him of that definition of his father's. A weapon is a device for making your enemy change his mind. The mind was the first and final battleground, the stuff in between was just noise.

- Lois McMaster Bujold, The Vor Game

Sounds like something my father might say.

Aral Vorkosigan is certainly somebody who got to wield a LOT of power. Over three planets. *smiles slightly and looks up at Thomas* Though he was certainly less set on personal domination. And he actually chose to step down and pass power on. Your father doesn't seem to be capable of something like that.

But yes, in the end all that happens, the worst struggles, are in the minds of people. Even the greatest force would be wasted if misdirected.

No, he's not. In more ways than one.

Sounds like something I should read. I gave up on Machiavelli a while back.

Oh Bujold is certainly a lot nicer. Most of her protagonists certainly don't aim at having power. More, they object to idiots having power or authority over them.

Which I can kind of relate to.

I can certainly get behind that. *laughs*
