What do you think are the chances that Titania is involved with the Black Council? And that she wasn't unaware of what Aurora meant to do?

Just in case, Small Favor spoilers may happen in the comments.

It hadn't occurred to me.

It's certainly possible since it also seems likely that Mab is opposing the BC.

LOL me neither really. I think I'm reaping the benefits of gettin almost 8 hours of sleep and my brain is firing hard. It's... interesting. Analytical-like ;)

I guess I just get suspicious of characters who are absent for too long, and Titania hasn't appeared. At all. ALL the other five queens have showed up occasionally, some more than others.

I may be completely off, of course, but it was just an idea that clicked unexpectedly.

To make things slightly more complicated, what if the Black Council replaced Titania, in a somewhat more subtle way than Aurora was trying to replace... um. Wossname. The Summer Knight. a) would that be possible and b) how likely is it?

WICKED!!!

But wouldn't the lords of the Sidhe know that something has happened to a Queen of the Seelie?

I'd say the chances are slim. Not that Titania wouldn't be tricky or anything, but I don't see what she could get out of an alliance with the Black Council.

Maybe it's my inner Lara looking at it, but usually the Sidhe don't do anything that doesn't benefit them in the long run.

Upset the balance. Sidhe trying to change the balance between Summer and Winter has been a recurring theme - three times so far in the series, by my count, two of them initiated by Summer. (Unless I misremember, I mean, but I think that's the score).

It's the way Sidhe are playing around with the White Council, including Summer. And the way Titania hasn't been friendly with Harry or the WC, even before Aurora's end. IDK. White Council is for maintaining the Status quo - and Titania obviously does not have too much liking for it.

Yeah definitely upset the balance, but I don't see the BC helping out on that front. *shrugs* Maybe.

I guess I don't put much thought into who hasn't shown up and who has because for me each book centers around specific areas. I mean look at the werewolves. Billy and his group haven't shown up in a while.

*shrugs* Maybe when we find out more about the Black Council, (who is involved) but I don't see Titania or the Sidhe viewing them as much of an ally unless they were more than just White Council being betrayers.

It's also how I view the Summer Court. They seem to be the 'nicer' ones than the Winter. Nicer doesn't always mean not subtle of course. They could be behind the scenes yanking chains but that just seems more Winters gig playing with mortals than Summers. Just my 2 cents anyway. :)

*nodnod* your 2 cents very much appreciated. That's the fun of discussion!

Maybe I didn't phrase that right. I get suspicious when somebody's actions are focused on, they are mentioned frequently or at least regularly, and they don't show up. (That's the reason why I get an uneasy feeling about Father Foothill too, alas.)

IDK. the Unseelie are more openly not-nice, but... the plan of Aurora's? Killing her ... at least somebody she'd been nice to, to achieve her goals? Arranging that their own, Summer knight, be killed? Um... not nice. And that's Titania's daughter.

Haha I don't insist on the theory. It's just that, a question for discussion, a speculation. That is most definitely not certain, like an insight, more a connection that may or may not exist, and I find interesting to look at more closely.

*nods* I love these type discussions.

My POV of the Sidhe are based around mythology and other things not of the Dresdenverse and I guess I'm skewed that way.

I don't view Aurora as a true daughter as in Titania gave birth to her, just as she didn't give birth to Lily literally. Like the greek fates with three bound as one (Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos) That's how I see Mother, Queen and Lady.

Oh I completely agree that Summer isn't nice but between the two Summer's nicer, imho anyway. I saw Aurora as a fanatic that wanted to end the constant warring. She just did it in a freak way, but her intentions were to stop the war that she was tired of.

So far I've only thought about them as a collection of bad wizards.

I didn't think about them as a potential Legion of Doom.

*snorts* The Black Council's... blindly guessed dimensions are odd and large. I really wouldn't be surprised if they had... if Titania weren't a part of them, then at least in some sort of agreement with them. Something she could wiggle out with, possibly. But if they're dealing with necromancy, she now even has a dead daughter they can use to sway her with... if that's even possible.
