OOC: About comm

OK, before I go and create something people will object to: the results of the poll, and where my (admittedly, damaged) thought process is atm:
Create Dresdenverse comm/s: Majority vote: Yes. (This one is the most definite.)
Type of membership: Majority vote: Moderated*
Format: This one was the least certain. My suggestion:
One comm, where we can post fandom-specific six-word stories, as well as longer ficlet-type posts. If the mun has preference for Asterisk - or Storybook - type of RP, that can be settled either as ooc comment (the sixwordstories / strikethrough / subject rules will be a lot more lax, but 6 words is a fun way to limit your post, and seems to work as an idea) or using a tag.
I'll also try to work up a good system for tags, including TV vs. Novels muses involved; storylines distinguishing, etc.
Prompts: Majority vote: Yes, optional. I'll go with monthly, unless we start running out of them?
New item: Name?
dresden_random ?
dresden_muses ?
magicplayground ?
ETA: little_chicago (Suggested by
raith_wraith ... *loves it* )
Something else?
*OK, I'm not talking about applications. But at one point or another, we've all encountered muns who turn playing with them into a chore, and an unpleasant one at that. This is more to, in case something like that happens, be able to keep them out, rather than close the comms to a select group. There'll be a post where anyone who wants to join the comms can comment, and the mods will approve correspondingly.
Also, as I wrote earlier, if it's modded membership, I won't be the only mod. Volunteers?
Questions? Comments? Boos?

Date: 2008-03-16 05:49 pm (UTC)I would be glad to help moderate, though with school my availability is somewhat iffy. Summer, depending on if I get this internship or not, would give me more time to get involved.
I like the semi-application idea. It would be some way to make regulating things okay. There should probably be some sort of general rules too, such as no wank, play nice, and probably something about spoilers just for when some of us read the books before other people.
If I have any other ideas, I'll mention them, right now my brain is still back in 1893 Chicago, lol.
